9 Tips on Shopping for Furniture
At Ambiance Home, our customers always, always ask how to make the furniture shopping experience as easy and stress-free as possible. We have many customers who are often confused and overwhelmed and don’t feel that they had enough time to make the right decisions. We came up with 9 tips when it comes to furniture shopping. We wanted to share these tips so that your experience here is fun and save you time and money.
1. Ask your family members (even kids!), close friends who are familiar with your tastes
You always want to ask about each particular area you are furnishing in regards of the actual look and functionality BEFORE you go shopping. Turn to magazines, Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration and create vision board. Think color, patterns, materials, etc.
2. Take pictures
It helps to get a picture of all the furniture you currently own and are going to keep in the room before you shop. Also, take pictures of each wall area so that you can remember door swings and windows. Once you arrive at the showroom, don’t be afraid to take pictures of potential pieces. It helps to retain what you are looking for.
3. Take measurements
This takes a lot more time and effort, but it is worth it. Take measurements of every part of your room – not just your floor plan. This includes measures out of fireplaces, area rugs and built-ins. Take notes on every cable connection and electrical outlet. This will help you remember what type of furniture will best fit in a certain area.
4. Decide on your budget
Make this decision with the relevant decision makers in your household, and give yourself a RANGE to decide ahead of time. Keep in mind that there are always new ideas and new products that might be perfect for you that you might not be aware of.
5. Do your research
Check out our website and social media and see the products we sell. It is so much more empowering to be informed prior to stepping foot inside our showroom’s doors. Our sales associates will appreciate it more too! Come with questions and inspirations.
6. Be prepared to have fun
Wear comfy shoes and clothes that are easy to bend over in (hint: make yourself feel at home).
7. Let the designer consultants/sales associate help you
Our designer consultants and sales associates are product experts. They are creative and excellent in providing you with differtent creative design ideas. With the parameters you set, find the perfect piece to make your room come alive with your personality.
8. Get all of the delivery, financing, and customer service contact numbers in writing.
These information should all be included in your invoice. Make sure you have documentation and pictures of what you purchased or have in mind of purchasing. We will always give you a copy so that both parties have all the information.
9. Have a “delivery” party!
Celebrate your newly purchased furniture and get ready to show it off while enjoying the feeling that goes along with knowing YOU’VE created a comfortable, warm and inviting home for your family and friends to enjoy for many years.
